SDIC: Co-Creating Our Community: An Experience in Deep Listening and Witness

11 06 2010

  • Have you ever left an SDI conference wishing you had more time to talk and connect with your colleagues?
  • Are you considering attending SDIC for the first time but concerned that it will be hard to meet new people?
  • Do you share a vision of a safe and trusting SDI community built on mutual respect and understanding?
  • Are you committed to co-creating the SDIC experience with your peers, our presenters, and your conference planning committee?

In response to these concerns and hopes, I am delighted to announce one of the cornerstone workshops of SDIC ’10: Co-Creating Our Community: An Experience in Deep Listening and Witness.

Facilitator Jo Hattendorf says, “In order to co-create a community for all, we must first listen to each other.  Out of our deep listening arises our deep concerns; connections are formed which become the strong fabric of our community.  This session provides an opportunty for deep listening in which we can share who we are, why we are here, and what we want our community to be/come.”

Your planning committee’s shared vision includes strengthening collegial relationships and our feminist community as an important element of the embodied curriculum for SDIC ’10.  Consider this session the “kick-off” to a conference experience characterized by meaningful exchange with your peers.

Johanna Hattendorf has over 25 years of experience working in the areas of body, mind and spirit. She has been a fully licensed Massage Therapist utilizing CranioSacral Therapy, Massage, and Reiki for 16 years. Her diverse background and experiences reflect her core values of wholeness and healing of body, mind and spirit.
